Kinder Orientation
Last Thursday we met our new students that are joining our Kindergarten class for 2024. The students were very excited to be spending time with their peers and experiencing what St Michael’s has to offer. We look forward to the students second Orientation session on Monday 4th December 9:00-12:30. Students can be dropped off to the classroom and will need fruit break, morning tea, a water bottle and a hat.
Families not returning in 2023
Please let us know if your family will not be returning to St Michael’s in 2024 by completing the attached form. We are always sad to see families leave us, but we know that this is the time of the year when postings, career change, house moves etc often occur. This prompt notice allows us to have the correct information for 2024 planning.
Remembrance Day
Please join us on Friday the 10th of November in the hall as we will be commemorating Remembrance Day. This special day marks the end of World War One in 1918. On this day we acknowledge and remember with thanksgiving those who made a huge sacrifice for us in time of war. It is also a day we can all dedicate ourselves to the cause of justice, freedom and peace; and for the wisdom and strength to build a better world.
World Kindness Day
Next week on Monday 13th of November we will be celebrating World Kindness Day which is a global day that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world. If every Australian performed an act of kindness on World Kindness Day, we would have 25 million acts of kindness in a single day. The possibilities are endless – together let’s make Australia kinder.
On Kindness Day at St Michael’s our students will be participating in activities that will help them reflect on how they can be kind. As well as promoting kindness, the day will also raise money for Global School Partners. Students can dress in any colour of the rainbow and are asked to donate a gold coin which will go directly to assisting our partner school in Kenya.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Many blessings,

Whole School Focus: Hope
In weeks 5 and 6 our teachers are focussing on the value of hope and sharing with our students the importance of this positive belief and emotion. Students are learning the importance of being optimistic and having confidence in a brighter future. When we are hopeful we are more focussed on our success, have lower levels of anxiety, have higher self esteem and a feeling of peace. Hope is needed to live life to its full. As Christians, hope is grounded in the love and trust we have in God. Our focus scripture this term reminds us of the need to trust in God and have hope: Romans 15:13 ‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Our St Michael’s rainbow is also a symbol of hope and a reminder of God’s promise. Students will be reflecting on what hope means to them and how they can be more optimistic and hopeful. Our Harmony Awards for the next two weeks will celebrate students who display our school value of Hope.
