Whole School Focus: Hope
In weeks 5 and 6 our teachers are focussing on the value of hope and sharing with our students the importance of this positive belief and emotion. Students are learning the importance of being optimistic and having confidence in a brighter future. When we are hopeful we are more focussed on our success, have lower levels of anxiety, have higher self esteem and a feeling of peace. Hope is needed to live life to its full. As Christians, hope is grounded in the love and trust we have in God. Our focus scripture this term reminds us of the need to trust in God and have hope: Romans 15:13 ‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Our St Michael’s rainbow is also a symbol of hope and a reminder of God’s promise. Students will be reflecting on what hope means to them and how they can be more optimistic and hopeful. Our Harmony Awards for the next two weeks will celebrate students who display our school value of Hope.
