Please ensure that you keep your child at home until they are no longer experiencing symptoms.
We are continuing to implement our COVID-19 safe practices including-

Our school community has done an exceptional job minimising the risks of the spread of COVID-19 and I sincerely thank families for their consistent and sensible approach.
Fun Day for all
This Friday, 9 December we will be having our Rainbow Awards, Farewell to Father Luis and Miss Frogley and Miss Lewis. We will start with an assembly in the hall at 9:15 am. Rainbow Awards will be presented for Term 4. Students are welcome to come dressed in play clothes- Christmas t-shirts are very welcome! All parents are welcome to attend. After Assembly the students will participate in fruit break with their teachers and classes in the courtyard and parents are welcome to join us for some fruit.
Students will be provided with morning tea and a BBQ lunch. Please bring along your water bottle to drink throughout the day.
Staffing
I notified families last week that Mr Webb would be moving on to new challenges in 2023. Damien has worked in the Assistant Principal role as well as periods of Acting Principal in the past 6 years. He has been fondly known as the ‘quiz master’ and never lets the side down on dress-up days! Damien’s generosity and ‘will-do’ attitude has been a huge asset to our community. His leadership of sustainability particularly in Miss Jordan’s Garden and the maintenance and care of the Greenhouse has been exemplary. Damien is well-regarded for his kindness and generosity and stepping in where needed. While he is sad to leave us, he is also excited for new challenges and possibilities closer to home.
Please join us for the Giving Mass on Tuesday 13 December, afterwards we will be thanking God for the blessing of Damien after Mass.
I will provide further information around staffing and classes before the end of the year, when teachers and classes are finalised.
Camp
Thank you to our generous staff who accompanied our 5/6 students to camp- it was a great time for all. Teachers and camp staff commented on how settled our students were and we are all very proud of them.
Pavers
The pavers look fantastic and have been arranged around the garden beds, this will protect them from tree-roots and weather damage.
The building works will continue in the holidays and the new signs and flag poles are looking great.
Thank you for your continued support.
Many Blessings,
Judy Egan

Religious Life of St Michael’s
Advent
Next week marks the third week of the season of Advent in our Church calendar. In the third week of Advent, we light two purple candles, as well as the pink candle, the candle of joy (also known as the Shepherd’s candle).
Thank you to 1/2 for their second beautiful WSPT on Monday! We will continue to have special Advent liturgies. Kindergarten are busily preparing the third and fourth of our Advent Celebrations.
Advent 3 will be on Monday 12th December in the courtyard at 9:00am, weather permitting.
Advent 4 will be on Thursday 15th December in the hall at 9:00am.
All are welcome to join us for either celebration.
Graduation Liturgy & Dinner
Next Tuesday evening (13th December) we have the Year 6 Graduation Liturgy and Dinner from 5:30pm. The Graduation Liturgy will be in St Michael’s Church at 5:30pm followed by formalities and dinner at The Clubhouse Kaleen at 6:15pm.
Leadership Ceremony
The handing over of leadership from Year 6 to next year’s leaders will be on Thursday 15th December. This is an incredibly special blessing of both our current and future Year 6 Leaders. Parents of both Year 5 & 6 students are welcome to join. This will take place from 9am in the hall following our fourth Advent WSPT.
A special thanks!
A special thank you to Tanya Butler who generously gave up her time to stitch some new and improved cloths for us to use for our upcoming and future Graduation Liturgies. Your time and dedication is much appreciated!
St Vincent de Paul Christmas Hamper Appeal
We ask that all items be sent in to school by tomorrow, Thursday 8th December 2022. We thank you for your support of the parish St Vincent de Paul team and this wonderful Advent initiative.
Each class was given a list of items to make a food hamper for a family in need. In your child’s class, each child will be asked to donate an item of food from this list to bring to school and place in the class St Vincent de Paul hamper basket. The completed class hamper will contain the goodies required for a family to enjoy a Christmas meal.
Our Giving Mass will be held on Tuesday 13th December at 9:30am. All are welcome to join.
