Welcoming Our New 2026 Principal – Mrs Fox

Last week, our staff and students warmly welcomed our new Principal, Mrs Fox, during her visit to St Michael’s. We began by sharing prayer together, before she visited each class to introduce herself and get to know our students. Our Kindergarten students surprised her with beautiful handmade cards, and Year One presented her with flowers. Mrs Fox shared that she felt truly blessed by the kindness shown and greatly enjoyed her warm welcome. She is very much looking forward to meeting our parents and becoming part of our school community.

    Confirmation

Last night, our students celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation, conferred by Archbishop Christopher Prowse and Fr Mick. It was a truly special occasion, filled with prayer, reverence, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We are especially grateful to Miss O’Rourke, our Acting Religious Education Coordinator, for her guidance and preparation in leading our students on this important faith journey. With the support of their families, sponsors, and parish community, our students have been strengthened in their faith and are ready to live out the gifts of the Spirit in their daily lives.

    ACT RoboCup Success

Last weekend, a group of our students proudly represented our school at the ACT RoboCup competition. They performed exceptionally well, demonstrating outstanding cooperation, perseverance, and problem-solving skills throughout the event. In the Rescue Line section, our students achieved a remarkable result, taking out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

    The students who placed are:

    1st: Lara I and Maddie C

    2nd: Valentina C and Anthia D

    3rd: Matthew H, Matthew M and Finn P

We also extend our warm congratulations to Miss Hallahan, who received a special teacher’s award in recognition of her dedication to mentoring students in Robotics and for her tireless efforts in fostering a love of innovation and learning. We sincerely thank Miss Hallahan for her commitment and guidance in preparing our students for this exciting challenge.

    Sharing Our Learning Afternoon

Parents and carers are warmly invited to join us this afternoon for Sharing Our Learning. This is a wonderful opportunity to come into classrooms, see your child’s learning journey in action, and celebrate their achievements together.

Reminder about Toys, Bag Tags & Jewellery

Just a friendly reminder that toys are not permitted at school, as they can easily go missing or break, which often leaves students feeling upset. We also ask that students limit their bag tags to one easily identifiable tag. Key rings with multiple toys can become a distraction and are often tempting to play with during class time.

For safety, students are welcome to wear stud or sleeper-style earrings. However, dangling earrings are not permitted as they can easily get caught and may cause injury.

Fresh New Carpets in C Block

C Block will be getting a fresh new look with brand-new carpets scheduled to be installed during the school holidays. We can’t wait for our students and staff to return and enjoy the updated learning spaces.

    A Message of Thanks

As we come to the end of this term, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the tremendous work of our teachers. Their effort, passion, and dedication have been evident in every lesson, activity, and interaction, and I am so grateful for the way they continue to go above and beyond for our students.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our parents and carers for your ongoing support and partnership with our staff. Your encouragement and collaboration make a real difference, and together we are creating a school community where every child feels supported to learn, grow, and thrive.

As we head into the holidays, I wish all our families a time of rest and renewal. Enjoy some downtime and relaxation, and please stay safe if you are travelling.

    Kind regards,
