Dear St Michael’s families,
We are still buzzing after such a wonderful Christmas evening last Friday night! Despite everyone nearly melting, our incredible staff, partners, families and volunteers, our generous Community Council and so many others cooked sausages, ran stalls, baked, sang carols and sold raffle tickets. It was great to see so many families enjoying time together and spreading Christmas cheer. A special thank you to Maria P who is a masterful organiser, planner and advertiser for so many of our events we are incredibly fortunate to have her expertise!
In this final newsletter, we would also like to acknowledge so many parents who have assisted this year at St Michael’s. These include our Community Council and members of our working groups who ran the Disco, sold items for Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls, book coverers, sports and carnival coaches clothing pool sorters, Working Bee helpers, and many other volunteers who make this community thrive. I would also like to thank Fr. Mick, Sr. Kate and the Parish Team for their support this year. Erika Tokich has worked tirelessly in her REC role to assist families and work with the Parish Team and Leadership teams to organise Sacraments, liturgies, prayer experiences and curriculum at St Michael’s.
We received this lovely certificate from St Vincent de Paul Society after so many wonderful donations for our Christmas Hampers.
These were presented at our Giving Mass on Thursday last week. Thank you to Erika for this organisation.
Year 6 Graduation
On Monday evening we celebrated a beautiful Graduation liturgy with our Year 6 students and their families. Thank you to the Year 6 Teachers and the Leadership Team. Congratulations to all our Year 6 students including the students listed who received special leadership awards.

We bid farewell to the following families who end their partnership with St Michael’s and thank them for entrusting their children to us, wishing them every future success as the students move to High School.
Farewell to the Anderson, Warwick, Pellegrino, Rapley, Wildey, Love, Kingham, Maly, Blackford, Bates, Calabro and McGrath families. Thank you for your wonderful contribution to our community.
We would also like to farewell the Scherl (Annika Yr 5) and Jamrozik (Julia Year 1) families who will be leaving us this year and wish them every future happiness.
Staffing
I am pleased to advise that following a selection process, Mrs Erika Tokich has accepted the position of Permanent Religious Education Coordinator at St Michael’s. On behalf of our staff and community I congratulate Erika and look forward to working with her as an important member of the Leadership Team. The REC position at St Michael’s was previously held by Meaghan Younger. Meaghan has expressed her grateful thanks to the school community for her time teaching and leading at St Michael's.
I would like to sincerely thank Bridgette McCann for stepping into the Principal role this term with such generosity and dedication. We are so very fortunate to have someone of her calibre in our team. Thanks also to Erika Tokich and Emily O’Rourke who also performed Higher Duties.
We truly have an exceptional staff team working diligently across the school whether they are raking leaves, teaching classes or tending to sick children- we value each and every one.
I would like to wish all our community a safe, happy Christmas and a festive season filled with the love that the baby Jesus brings.
Thank you for your kindness.
Blessings, peace and joy,
Judy Egan
