Soctober

Today, St Michael’s Primary School students and staff came to school with their crazy socks on. Everyone had a great time showing off their craziness. However, the reason for the day was to raise money for Catholic Missions and the children and families they support in Mongolia. I am proud to say that the school raised $250. I wish to thank the generosity of St Michael families. You have made the day a success both in raising funds and helping your children have some fun. Thank you and God Bless.

All Saints and Souls Day

This Friday and Saturday the Church celebrates All Saints Day and All Souls Day. All Saints Day (November 1st) is when the Catholic Church celebrates all those who have died and gone to heaven. A saint is a person who is believed to be in heaven. Feast days for different ‘famous’ saints are spread over the year, however, on All Saints Day, all souls in heaven are celebrated. Saints, being close to God in heaven, are called to intercede for the people still on earth. It is good to remember and spend time in prayer to those who have died and are in heaven. All Souls Day (November 2nd) is a time for us to pray for those who are still on earth. This day brings everyone closer to a life of joy, peace and love. Families are most welcome to join us this Friday at 12 midday when we will attend Mass at St Michael’s Church to celebrate All Saints’ Day.
