‘Come Holy Spirit’ Archdiocesan Assembly - Erika Tokich
On the weekend I attended the Archdiocese Assembly for Canberra Goulburn ‘Come Holy Spirit’. The Assembly was a gathering of representatives from all parishes which included clergy, teachers and lay people. The purpose was to gather as a community to celebrate the fruits of the Year of the Holy Spirit, whilst also exploring new opportunities for evangelisation and synodality in the life and mission of our church. During collaborative round table discussions, we prayed and reflected on the following questions:
*Where has the Holy Spirit been at work in our community?
*What are the challenges and opportunities in becoming a community of encounter, discipleship and mission?
*What are the paths to pursue as a community?
It was a wonderful day of listening to, and discerning the work of the Holy Spirit. Our discussions affirmed the important mission of Catholic schools being places of evangelisation; where we encounter Jesus, become disciples and continue Jesus’ mission. In the coming weeks a Synthesis Report will be released which I will share with our community.
