Dear Parents & Carers,
Nationals Robocup Competition
Last weekend Miss Hallahan, Yattani, Zara, Evie, Mischa and Isabella attended the National Robocup competition in Brisbane. I would like to thank and congratulate our students, their parents and Miss Hallahan for their spectacular passion, energy and commitment to compete in this competition. This event was a great opportunity for students to collaborate, share ideas and draw inspiration from others around the country. I was very proud to hear about the way our students connected with others and persevered when faced with complex coding challenges. Congratulations to all involved!
Grandparent’s Day & Special Friends
A huge thank you all our staff and students involved in preparing a beautiful Grandparent’s Day liturgy, activities and morning tea. It was wonderful to see the special bond between the children and their grandparents & special friends as they created memories together. The morning tea of scones, jam and cream was a huge success, with many of our Grandparents and special friends commenting on the efforts that our staff had gone to, to welcome everyone and make time for this lovely gathering.

Boorowa Netball and Touch Carnival
Good luck to all our teams, coaches, umpires, parents and staff that are making the trip to Boorowa on Friday to attend the Netball and Touch Football carnival. We really appreciate the support and time given for the events to run and be successful. A special thanks to Mrs Hardwicke for coordinating this event and Mrs Blakey, Mr Howland and Miss Widdeson.
Protecting your kids Personal Safety Education for Parents
Keeping our kids safe is of the utmost importance and I am keen to share with you a useful resource on Protective Behaviours which you can access in the link below.
This booklet provides key skills, concepts and strategies to promote personal safety for children and young people. Drawing on the concepts of the Protective Behaviours program, this information can empower children of all ages to deal with difficult or unsafe situations. This booklet aims to inform you about how you can help children develop skills to be able to talk to a safe, trusted adult about anything in their lives.
The Protective Behaviours program has a number of important goals about safety. We want children to speak up about their safety and talk to us and other identified safe adults in their lives, whether they are at home, at school or in the community. We want children to build their confidence in sharing what is happening in their lives and to tell someone when they are worried or scared, as well as when good things happen. We need to teach our children to build respectful, healthy relationships across all ages.
Australia will celebrate the teaching profession on World Teachers’ Day on Friday 25 October 2024.
I would personally like to thank all our amazing teachers at St Michael’s for their dedication and compassion. Our teachers are such a positive influence in the lives of our students and share their passions and help our students to thrive and succeed. We thank you and appreciate you!
Let’s celebrate Australia’s teachers for their skilled work in educating, inspiring and supporting our young people. Hats off to teachers this World Teachers’ Day! Share a “hats off” selfie of you and your kids to celebrate teachers. Make sure to tell teachers what they mean to you. This is your chance to join Australia in celebrating teachers.
