Socktober
Next week on Wednesday 30th October our school will be participating in Socktober. Socktober is a Catholic Mission program that connects students with global mission through fun and meaningful fundraising activities. We are asking students to bring in a gold coin donation and to wear some crazy socks on the day. Gold coin donations will go towards Catholic Mission. This year, Socktober focuses on children who are homeless, or who come from vulnerable backgrounds in Mongolia. Mongolia faces significant socioeconomic challenges. Despite economic growth, parts of Mongolia still grapple with poverty, hindering access to essentials like education and healthcare. By participating in Socktober, students will be able to make a significant contribution to the work of global mission in Mongolia. Thank you in advance for making a difference with your generous donations.
The month of the Rosary
This month, October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, one of the best known Catholic devotions. The best way to honour and celebrate Mary is to pray the Rosary. Rosary comes from a Latin word Rosaria, which means a crown of roses or a garden of roses. It grew up in the second millennium of Christianity, particularly in Western Christianity around the 14th century. It's attributed to Saint Dominic. The Rosary is a sequence of prayers. St John Paul II said, it's a compendium of the Gospel and it's intended to help us grow in our faith as we come to understand more and more about the life, the death, the resurrection and the Ascension of Jesus Christ, and about the Church and who we are in the Lord. That's why the way to view the Rosary is as a time of meditation. We meditate on the great mysteries of the faith.

Our Parish also pray the Rosary every Sunday 5.00pm at St Michael’s Church. Additional times can be found on the parish website http://cg.org.au/belconnennorth/Home.aspx
