Acting Principal's Page - Bridgette McCann
Dear Parents and Carers,
A warm welcome back for all our students and families and as we commence the final term for 2024.
Whole school Focus - This term we continue to develop our ‘Whole School Focus: Come Holy Spirit’ and break open an understanding of the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. Teachers will be growing our students’ knowledge about patience, peace, joy and love. I am often struck by our students’ abilities to demonstrate these gifts through their relationships: looking out for each other, making connections and showing great empathy and support toward their peers and adults in our community.
We continue to support our students to develop learning values. In term 4 we will focus on learning to create and persevere. Our living values will be encouraged, where all students can be a leader and be a learner.
Our Resilience Project continues with weekly lessons and reflections and we will elaborate on what it means to be people who are grateful, empathetic and mindful.
I am so proud of all the students at St Michael’s, who have returned to school ready to learn. As I walk through the school and in and out of classrooms, I am impressed with our students who are engaged, attentive and focused.
Important Dates - I am sure your calendars, like mine, are quickly being filled with end of year events. All-important school events for this term have been listed on the School Calendar on our website, in the Newsletter, on Compass and communicated to you via your child’s, ‘Year Level – Parent Overview’ which will come home this week.
Grandparents Day - We are looking forward to welcoming all our Grandparents and special friends this Friday for a Liturgy in the Church, followed by activities in the classrooms and a delicious morning tea in the hall.
Robocup - We are thrilled that our Robocup Team made it into the National Finals and will be competing in Brisbane this weekend. We wish them every success and trust that they will learn from this great collaborative, problem solving challenge. Thank you to the students and families and to Miss Hallahan, who will accompany the team.
Attendance - A reminder that you notify us of any student absences via Compass.
Leaving St Michael’s? - If your child won’t be returning to St Michael’s next year, except for Year 6 students, please complete the form attached and return to our front office. Soon, we will begin the process of developing class structures for 2025!
Thank you for your continued support.
Many blessings
