Religious Education News - Emily O'Rourke

OLPH Feast Day
On Thursday the 27th of June, we celebrated Our Lady of Perpetual Help Feast Day as a school community. Students participated in a whole school liturgy which celebrated Mary, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, our Heavenly Mother who is known for miracles and answers to prayers. Thank you to the families and school community who joined us for our liturgy.
Students then participated in activities to deepen their knowledge of our patron saint. They wrote their own personal prayers to Our Lady of Perpetual Help and completed a collaborative poster within their classrooms.
A big thank you again to all our teachers and support staff who helped make the day such a success.

Winter Woollies Day

Just a gentle reminder, on Friday the 5th of July, we will be having a Winter Woollies Day in support of the Vinnies Winter Appeal. The students will participate in workshops run by the staff of Saint Vincent De Paul to help educate students on social justice. The day will be non-uniform; students can wear their own winter woollies.  We are asking families to support the day by bringing in a donation which will be distributed to those experiencing homelessness in our community. Students are asked to bring item/s from the list below:

Rough Sleeping Essentials

New adult sized: gloves, beanies, scarfs, socks and hats;

New/pre-loved: jackets, coats, blankets and sleeping bags.

NB Large sized neutral coloured clothing is preferable

Hygiene Essentials

New items including: toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, moisturiser, face wash etc

NB Travel sized items are recommended

If you would like more information about the donations, please see the Vinnies Appeal Kit attached.
