Holy Week

Holy_Week.png

As we approach the end of Lent the students are preparing to retell the events of Holy week. On Friday the 22nd of March the K-2 students will present a Palm Sunday Liturgy. This liturgy will recount Jesus’ entry to Jerusalem where he was greeted as a King and Saviour. On Wednesday the 27th of March the 3-4 students will present the Holy Thursday Liturgy. This liturgy will recount the Last Supper that Jesus shared with his disciples. Finally, on Thursday the 28th of March the 5-6 students will lead the Good Friday Liturgy where we will reflect on the suffering and death of Jesus. These liturgies are an important part of the students’ preparation in what is the most important week in the church. Families are most welcome to join us in the hall for these events.

Easter

When we return after the Easter break, we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with an Easter Hat Parade. Students are invited to get creative and design/make an Easter Hat that reflects the joy of the resurrection and new life. Teachers will provide templates to students if they require some guidance.

Project Compassion

We are now just over half way through the Project Compassion Appeal. I have been humbled by the efforts of students at St Michael’s who are using Lent as a time to help others and lead positive change. Thank you to the students and the generosity of the St Michael’s community who have contributed to almost $500 to date! For the remainder of this term you can donate through Project Compassion donation boxes or online by visiting our school fundraising page:
