Project Compassion

This week I spoke to some wonderful students at St Michael’s that have been working hard to raise funds for Project Compassion. They shared with me their goals and ways they have been raising money. Bianca in Kindergarten has been feeding her cat everyday. Matthew in Year Two has been helping to mow the lawn, feed the dog and take out the rubbish, he collects $7 each week for doing his jobs. Lillian in Year Three has been saving money since Christmas for the appeal and has a goal of raising $100 to help others less fortunate than herself. Jerry in Year Two has donated his life savings! Congratulations to these generous students for their efforts. They are certainly using Lent as a time of almsgiving; helping others. Thank you to all families who are working to raise funds for the appeal. A reminder that you can donate through Project Compassion donation boxes or online by visiting our school fundraising page:

Reconciliation
Many of our students are preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. During preparation students explore right and wrong, reflect on their choices and learn the importance of letting go of hurt. They learn how to express sorrow for the times they turn away from God. In this Sacrament we reconcile with God and experience His grace and mercy. This process brings about a change of heart and renews the gift of the Holy Spirit within us. Please keep our Reconciliation candidates in your thoughts and prayers.
