Principal's Page - Bridgette McCann (Acting)
Dear Families,
We are looking forward to welcoming families to our Sharing Our Learning afternoon from 3:15pm to 5:30pm this afternoon. This is an opportunity for you to share some relaxed time with your child and to hear and see all their wonderful achievements and efforts. Collaboration and communication between families and teachers is always encouraged and you are most welcome at any time to make an appointment to chat one on one with your child’s teacher.
On Monday, thirty of our Year 5/6 students participated in “Games on the Greens” hosted at Government House. Our students loved playing backyard cricket with His Excellency General the Hon David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d) Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia.

On Friday we will celebrate St Michael’s Feast Day. Please feel free to join in by attending our liturgy in the Church at 9:15am.
It has been another busy and exciting term at St Michael’s and I would like to thank St Michael’s staff for their hard work and commitment. I am also very grateful to our amazing students who contribute in many ways to the life of our school, by being people of harmony and living out the values of compassion, kindness and forgiveness.
Thank you to everyone in our wonderful community for their encouragement and support. I hope all families have an opportunity to connect and spend time together over the holidays and safe travels.
Many Blessings,
Bridgette McCann (Acting Principal)
Community Council Corner
The Community Council met on Wednesday night in one of our most efficient meetings yet, chaired by our wonderful new Assistant Principal, Bridgette McCann (Congratulations!!).
Topics discussed were the exciting events coming up for our school community including - St Michaels day, zoo excursion, Possum Magic theatre trip, cricket at the Governor Generals and Grandparents Day.
We also discussed the wonderful events run in the last few weeks- book week, author visits, the reptile zoo visit, coffee chat, fire incursion, and the Father’s Day celebration. The council were also glad to hear the World Kindness Day celebration proposed by Sierra Thomas, will be hosted on the 13th of November.
St Michaels have also recently purchased 30 new iPads for the junior school space and are in talks with Catholic Education about some alterations to the greenhouse to ensure it gets more use from the student population. The council also plan to meet with the Catholic Education Engagement and Governance officers regarding the new Community Council Charter.
The council are keen to hear your thoughts on the upcoming lunch orders, and as always please reach out via the office if you’d like to get in touch!
