Dear Parents and Carers
I hope your family enjoyed celebrating Father’s Day with your loved ones and soaked up some of the warm sunshine we saw over the weekend. It is encouraging to see the tree blossoms emerging and the bulbs producing their spring flowers.
Confirmation
Congratulations to our Confirmation candidates and their families who received the Sacrament last night and heartfelt thanks to families and all those who prepared and assisted them. It was wonderful witnessing how reverent our students were, and I sincerely thank everyone involved including Father Mick, the Parish Sacramental Team, Erika Tokich and our Year 5/6 teachers. Did you know that the Fruits of the Holy Spirit are Joy, Goodness, Peace, Self-control, Kindness, Gentleness, Patience, Love and Faithfulness? (Galatians 5:22-23) These are powerful ways of expressing our Christian care for those around us.
Father’s Day
Last Friday we celebrated Father’s Day at St Michael’s with an open morning of fun and games and most importantly the opportunity for a hot coffee and a chat amongst our fathers, father figures and other special family member and friends. Years 5 and 6 led us in a beautiful prayer liturgy where we celebrated our father’s and remembered and thanked them for how much time and energy they give to their children.

Reptile Zoo Incursion
Our K-2 students had an exciting time last Thursday with a visit from the Canberra Reptile Zoo. The students enjoyed the safe, interactive, informative presentation and were able to get up close to a crocodile, snake, lizard and turtle.

RoboCup
Last Saturday six of our students attended the RoboCup Robotics competition. Congratulations to our two teams who placed second and third. RoboCup Junior encompasses not only vital STEM skills but extends right across a school curriculum. The competition also addresses social development by encouraging sportsmanship, sharing, teamwork, understanding of differences, cooperation and organisational skills. The students took part in Rescue Line, where the robot follows a line, overcomes obstacles and saves a victim. As well, the initiative serves as a basis for project-oriented education. RoboCup Junior is able to extend skills learnt from the classroom with a comprehensive, relevant curriculum that equips students for a future in our technology-driven world. Thank you to Ms Hallahan who gave up her time to lead our two teams on Saturday.

Hats On
Thanks to everyone for ensuring that students have school hats to protect them from increasing UV exposure, our school uniform is a valued part of St Michael’s community, and the safety and wellbeing of students is always our highest priority.
Hats are available for purchase at the Front Office for $12.00.
We wish Judy safe travels whilst she is on leave. In her absence, I will be Acting Principal, and Danielle Madsen will be Acting Assistant Principal, please reach out if you need any support.
Many blessings
Bridgette McCann (Acting Principal)
