Tennis Clinics
This term our students will have the opportunity to have 4 weeks of tennis lessons with GetSet Tennis. K-2 lesson will be held at school on Tuesday and students in Years 3-6 will have lesson at the Kaleen tennis courts on Thursday. The program will commence next week.
The clinics are possible due to our successful Sporting School grant.
Game On - Free Community Sporting Events in Kaleen
At yesterday’s morning assembly we had a special guest visit St Michael’s - Canberra Capitals basketball pro and Physical Activity Foundation CEO, Lucille Bailie. Lucille spoke to us about Game On, local community based, free physical activity “pop up” sessions in Kaleen. You will have noticed some signs appearing around Kaleen about free games opportunities for families. The aim of the events is to promote physical activity for children through providing fun, accessible sessions and ideas for children and their families. Lucille reminded our students that children need 60 minutes of exercise per day to keep healthy. I encourage families to get involved in these events, they kick off off this Sunday 23 July with a Walk, Talk + Workout event, free coffee/hot chocolate & fresh fruit!
