Dear Parents and Carers,
We have come to the end of another busy and exciting term at St Michael’s. There are many people to thank!
Thank you to Erika Tokich for her wonderful organisation of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Feast Day, it was a special celebration for all our students as was the First Communion last week. We had a well organised Athletics carnival and we greatly appreciate the generosity of Kai Ryan for his sharing of technology which assisted us to record placings and times in a very efficient manner. Also to our other parents who came along to assist-everyone made a difference in helping us with a great event. Thanks to Erin Hardwicke for her support and enthusiasm in sports, we are indeed lucky for her expertise. Everyone agrees it was a fabulous disco and we are very appreciative of all who assisted. Thank you to all our staff at St Michael’s who give above and beyond for the students in their care, I know how important it is for all families to know that their children are safe, supported and cared for daily.
Term 3 Staffing Updates:
We welcome Miss Mia Pennay and Mrs Raman Malik who will be helping in the Year 1/2 classes next term, while Miss Kapantais is on leave.
Mr Michael Washington will also be on leave possibly joining us later in the year as a relief teacher.
We wish Mrs Morella a very happy time as she gets ready to welcome her new baby girl and we welcome Miss Hannah Rosser who will join our CSA team.
Other updates
Semester reports will be sent home tomorrow Thursday 29 June. As advised in compass communication, Catholic Education administer our reporting system and set formats, dates, and advice around report comments. Not all schools set interview times for the mid-semester report and I really appreciate our staff offering this important opportunity for parents. I also thank families for coming along to interviews to support the learning relationship.
NB: Rainbow awards and Athletics ribbons- this Friday morning assembly in the hall-9:00am
Term 3
School starts Tuesday 18 July, CE has advised that Monday 17th July will be a Pupil-Free Day.
This day is an opportunity for teachers to complete professional learning and catch up on teacher preparation time that has been lost this term due to staff shortages. I can understand that this is not always convenient for families and I am very grateful on behalf of our staff for our community support to accommodate Pupil Free Days.
I wish all our families a warm and wonderful Winter vacation, and safe journeys to all those travelling, thank you for your continued support.
Many Blessings,
Judy Egan
