Religious Education News - Meaghan Younger
RE in Kindergarten
In Kindergarten we are exploring what prayer is and how it is important in our life to build our relationship with God. We shared some excellent thinking about how, when, where and why we pray.

We are learning the Our Father and our St Michael’s School prayer and we’d love to teach you these at home to practise.
We made beautiful prayer cloths to help us focus during our morning prayer at school.

Religious Life of St Michael’s
Winter Woolies Day – THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you just doesn’t seem enough. Many people will benefit from the generous donations you all made to our Winter Woolies appeal.
We raised over $200 as well as all clothing donations.
The children had a fabulous day learning all about the work of the Night Patrol Van and the serious issue of homelessness.
Thank you to all the staff for your support of the day and making it run so smoothly.

Feast of St Mary MacKillop of the Cross
Monday 8th August is the Feast Day for our Australian saint, St Mary MacKillop of the Cross. Mary Mackillop is known particularly for her work in education, setting up schools for disadvantaged children in rural and remote areas or those too poor to afford schooling in a time when it was often only for the rich. An inspiring role model and Australia’s first home grown saint, we celebrate her feast day each year in schools nationwide. We will hold a digital Whole School Prayer Time for the staff and students at St Michael’s for our morning prayer. Kindergarten are already very busy preparing to lead us in this special Feast Day WSPT. Unfortunately, at this stage we are unable to invite parents to join us for this.
