Religious Education Curriculum
The past few weeks in 1/2 we have been looking at how we can show respect through the qualities that we demonstrate to others. We have been learning how to be “Happy Chappies” and not “Nasty Pasties”. Happy Chappies are helpful, grateful, cheerful, friendly, good listeners, generous, forgiving etc. They are opposite to Nasty Pasties who moan and groan, don’t have a go, say negative things, complain etc. We have thought about the qualities we think make a good friend and the students have created their own recipes for a good friend.
The Perfect Friend:
1.Get a cup of encouragement
2.Put a teaspoon of helpfulness in
3.Add a pinch of generosity
4.Put it in a bowl and stir
5 Bake it in the oven, leave to dry and bingo you have your friend. Mine is great!
By Eden 1/2B
1.Take a kilogram of kindness then add a teaspoon of helpfulness
2.Put 25 pinches of honesty in and add a bowl of generosity
3.Now mix all of the qualities together, put it in the mould and put it in the fridge to set for 2 hours
By Isabella 1/2B
1.Add one teaspoon of honesty, then add a cup of kindness into the bowl
2.Add two pinches of cheerfulness
3.Add 35 grams of friendliness and one sprinkle of loveliness and then mix until light and fluffy and then pour it into the mould and cook for 5 minutes.

Advent
In the Church’s Liturgical Year we are in the season of Advent. We begin to prepare for the coming of baby Jesus at Christmas. Thank you to Kindergarten for your beautiful liturgy on Monday morning. We look forward to 1/2W leading us next Monday at 9am in the courtyard.
First Eucharist
Parents of Year 4 for 2020 who wish to make their First Eucharist early in 2021 are invited to an Information Session via Zoom this Thursday 3/12 at 6:00 https://cgcatholic.zoom.us/j/95777510929 This is for current Year 4 students only. Students currently in Year 3 wishing to make their First Eucharist will do so in Term 2 of 2021 and will begin preparation late in Term One.
Giving Mass
Next week St Michael’s School students will have the opportunity to gather together and celebrate Mass as a whole school for the first time in a very long time. Unfortunately, COVID restrictions still apply to parents. We will give thanks to God for the blessings we have all received this year and pray for those in need in our community. We will also present to the local St Vincent de Paul chapter our donations of food for Christmas hampers. Thank you to all who have generously donated to this appeal.
Amen.
