Welcome to Week 5
I cannot believe that we are half way through the Term already. It is certainly going fast! It is important that everyone is able to enjoy this time of year and reflect upon the challenging times that we have all faced. It has certainly been a year of growth and development for everyone and the challenges of 2020 have certainly shone a great deal of light on the strength and character of our amazing school community.
Assembly Items
At the end of this week, all classes will have finalised an assembly item to be published on our ‘Remote Learning Website.’ Sadly we have been unable to have the company of parents and families within the school for class assemblies. It is important that we are able to showcase the learning, skills and talents of our wonderful students and acknowledge the support and guidance that is shown to them by our fantastic staff. Students will be watching the videos created by all the other classes on Friday of this week.
I hope that everyone is able to hop online and enjoy the show!
There will be more details sent out via Schoolzine and Seesaw with the details of these videos and how to access them.
Teacher Placements for 2021
I am happy to announce that our wonderful teaching staff will all be continuing in teaching rolls for 2021. We are still in the process of firming up class lists. A reminder that all students will be given the opportunity to spend some time with their new class and classroom teacher in our ‘Step Up’ session which will occur on the final day of the term, Friday the 18th of December.
The class teachers for 2021 are as follows:
Kindergarten – Miss Nadia Farhadi
1/2 -Mrs Shannon Blakey
- Ms Jessica Hallahan (3 days) and Mr Damien Webb (2 days)
3/4 -Ms Meaghan Younger (4 days) and Mr Damien Webb (1 Day)
- Miss Jessica Lewis
- Mrs Sarah Anderson (4 days) and Mrs Jane McKeough (1 Day)
5/6 – Miss Natasha Kapantais
-Miss Laura Frogley
We are very blessed with a wonderful staff here at St Michael’s and no doubt will continue to grow our wonderful school, setting high expectation for next year and beyond.
Sustainability Action Group
If any parents and families are interested in joining the Sustainability Action Group, there will be a meeting next Friday, the 20th of November at 3:15. We will be meeting at the school’s greenhouse, Miss Jordan’s Garden, in order to discuss ways that families can be more involved with the running of our wonderful resource. If you are interesting in attending and learning about helping on weekends and holiday periods, please email Esther Coghlan at mecoghlan05@gmail.com
Once again, I’d like to thank the community for their ongoing support. Have a lovely week!
Kind regards,
Damien Webb - Principal (Acting)
