Dear Parents and Carers,
A warm welcome back to Term 4!
Exciting News! After a long wait we finally have permission to relax many of the COVID-19 restrictions in schools. To kick off we will be holding a celebration of our wonderful Grandparents on Friday 4th November. This will involve a Liturgy in St Michael’s Church, a visit to classrooms and a shared lunch. If families are not in a position for Grandparents to attend, please know that special family friends are also very welcome. Further times/details will follow.
St Michael’s Feast Day and Sacrament of Reconciliation
This Friday, parents are welcome to join us in the Church for whole school prayer to celebrate St Michael’s Feast Day which occurred during the holidays on 29th September. After prayer we will hand out Harmony Awards and recognise birthdays.
This term our Year 3 students will be preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This is a Sacrament where we are reminded of the power of forgiveness to give peace and hope in our lives. We prayerfully support these students and families during the next few weeks.
Catalyst Happenings
As part of our continued commitment to Staff professional learning and development Associate Professor Lorraine Hammond AM, PhD, CF will be visiting St Michael’s this Thursday 13 October. Lorraine has been part of the coaching and feedback for our staff over the past 2 years and provides research-based support to assist us in ensuring we maintain high impact teaching practice.
Thank you to Meaghan Younger, Shianne Sahariv and Laura Frogley for attending 3 days of Intensive training with the Catalyst Teams from CECG and WA during the second week of the holiday period. Congratulations to Laura Frogley who joins Jessica Hallahan in completing her journey to attain Highly Accomplished Teacher status. We have a teaching staff who go above and beyond to ensure they deliver best practice in classrooms and they continue to be an inspiring bunch.

Religious Education News - Meaghan Younger
Religious Education
RE in 5/6
This term will be exploring how Mary holds an important role in the Catholic Church’s story. By the end of the term students in years 5 & 6 will:
- understand that all writing has context
- understand that Mary holds a special place in our Church story
- understand how meditative prayer is practiced
What a wonderful opportunity for your family to share your Marian practices or perhaps to start a new one? Here is a link to some simple ideas you and your family may wish to explore. This month, October, is the month of the Rosary and an ideal time to start a practice of regularly praying the rosary.
