Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you to everyone at St Michael’s for their support and positivity as we enter an ongoing lockdown period.
If your children are asking questions about Lockdown and COVID-19, you might find this resource helpful. Jodie Griffiths Cook, our Commissioner for Children and Young People has shared a video for children. Jodie gently explains some things about COVID and the lockdown, and who to talk to if children are worried or unhappy. There is also a newsletter with ideas and activities in child-friendly language.

Information for families around Term 3 School Fees
Catholic Education will again support families who have been financially impacted as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic in Term 3. The position of Catholic Education is that no child will be denied a Catholic Education because of financial circumstances.
If your family is undergoing financial stress due to job loss, being stood down, reduction in work hours, business closure or downturn due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, full or partial fee relief is available for Term 3. To apply for relief, you are asked to indicate the level of assistance you feel necessary at this time by completing a one-page fee assistance form (COVID-19 Fee Assistance Request Form) attached. Your level of fee support will be confirmed as soon as possible. Please email the form and supporting documentation directly to;
judith.egan@cg.catholic.edu.au
Families experiencing difficulties may prefer to defer their current payment arrangements for the next few weeks. Should this be your option of choice, please refer to the attached document (COVID-19 Request to Defer Payment of School Fees) attached, and return, via email to office.stmichaelsps@cg.catholic.edu.au
This will allow Lisa Monro, our Finance Officer to action a change to your direct debit arrangement. To help with planning Fee Statements will be sent home so that families know the current balance of their fee statement.
Families whose employment situation has not been affected by COVID-19 can assist the school by continuing to pay school fees when they are due. With your support we can focus on providing quality learning and maintaining strong partnerships in our wonderful community.
Please reach out if you require support and know that we are committed to ensuring our families and students remain our top priority. I thank our amazing staff who are working above and beyond to support families.
Finally, can I send our best wishes to our wonderful Dads, Stepdads, Grandads and all other wonderful carers who support families in so many wonderful ways this Father’s Day. Classes are doing some special activities this week for our Dads and we’d love to see any Father’s Day family photos to share with the community. If you’d like to send a photo, please email to;
maria.papasidero@cg.catholic.edu.au
May this Spring Season bring for us all a renewed hope and promise of better days ahead,
Many blessings,
Judy Egan

Religious Education
Fathers’ Day
As we cannot be together at this time, we are unable to hold a shared liturgy in celebration of Fathers as is our practice. Next Friday however the daily prayer in the Remote Learning Plan will be focused on prayers for Dads (and all the important men in our lives).
We do wish a very Happy Fathers’ Day to all the wonderful men in our St Michael’s community.
Confirmation
At this stage the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation is on hold until we are able to gather once again in the church. On Tuesday evening our candidates and their parents gathered virtually to finalise preparation for Confirmation. It was a lovely evening of prayer and reflection with the students demonstrating mature and faith-filled responses to the Scripture and artwork we explored. We will continue to keep these students in our prayers and will let everyone know as soon as we are able to go ahead with the Sacrament of Confirmation.
